Crystal City was originally settled by American farmers and ranchers producing cattle and various crops. It was a major stop along with San Antonio, Uvalde, Carrizo Springs, and Corpus Christi on the defunct San Antonio, Uvalde and Gulf Railroad, which operated from 1909 until it was merged into the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1956.

The Crystal City Correctional Center, a private prison, was previously one of the largest employers in the Crystal City area when it housed prisoners from a variety of jurisdictions, including federal prisoners.

Crystal City is served by the Crystal City Independent School District. The high school teams are known as the Javelinas.

Also, the area has a branch of Southwest Texas Junior College, of which the main campus is to the north in Uvalde.

What a great find in this remote, out of the way place in South Texas. Had proper street tacos, meat grilled on open flame- tons of flavor. Great patio and bar, tip-top service and good prices. A new favorite.

Excellent Mexican restaurant

If we ever made our way to Crystal City again we would definitely return to this restaurant. I had a taco salad and it was the best I have ever had. The salsa was fantastic!

Great Food And Wonderful Service

We enjoyed everything about this place. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and called ahead for a reservation because we had a party of 17. The table was ready when we arrived and our waitress could not have handled our large group any better. The margaritas are perfectly crafted and not made with a mix. The food was tasty arrived in a very timely manner.
We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants great food, wonderful margaritas, and friendly service.

Very bright warm atmosphere. Great service. Food very tasty. Fajitas beef top notch. Tacos with cabbage and cream chipotle sauce amazing. Beans with bacon and cilantro very tasty. Great margaritas..!!! We will be back for sure.
