Rangely is part of the Dinosaur Diamond Scenic and Historic Byway, a 480 mile adventure through Utah and Colorado that higlights Dinosaur fossils and footprints from 150 million years ago. Further on the Byway is the Utah Field House of Natural History with 18 life size models! The Byway continues on to Moab and Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

Just to the South of Rangely on Highway 139 is Canyon Pintado, the "painted desert" with 16 mapped Native American Rock Art Sites from the ancient Fremont and Ute Indians, more than 200 petroglyphs and pictographs adorn the canyon walls.    

Up the street from the Moosehead Lodge is Cedar Ridge golf course, a spacious 9-hole course.The area's desert sunshine allows you to play a round of golf 8 months or more each year! The course is affordable, well maintained and challenging.
